- Brass basin with enamel painted handle ( Cloisonné) & brass stand beneath the brass neck that acts as a kickstand. It allowed the user to rest the blistering hot iron flat on a table without burning the wood surface. - Approx. 5” long x 2.5” diameter (at basin top), x 1.5” tall. - The Ironing Technique: The smooth, heavy brass undercarriage was pressed down and glided smoothly over delicate textiles like silk to eliminate wrinkles without scorching them. - Stamped “China” on bottom of brass. - Please review pictures for details and further item description, as there are signs of age & wear to both the enamel handle and the brass.
