This is an extremely rare large heavy blanket (it has the look, feel and weight of wool but is unmarked). I was told by the previous owner that her parents received it as a wedding present in 1939. Based on its amazing condition I’d say it was immediately stored in the ubiquitous cedar chest and never again saw the light of day (in fact it has the faintest hint of cedar). The previous owner remembers it being used a few times and it does show the slightest amount of wear (see pics). This blanket is large measuring approximately 79”x61” (76” down the very middle). Its a beautiful warm brown color with lovely pink felt like trim. Translations of the whimsical label by Dr. Google show this blanket was made by the Tianjin Blanket Factory/Company and Registered trademark Ferret/Xue Diao (see pics of label). If you’re an antique textiles aficionado you’ll recognize how unique this item truly is. In fact, an internet search failed to show a single image of the label. Other than a very few minor wear marks consistent with age this antique blanket displays like brand new but please scrutinize the pictures to judge condition for yourself and thanks for stopping by.
