Thank you for looking over this listing. Here's the backstory - more detail than you may want, but you'll understand what makes this item unique. When my marriage was still intact and my children were attending a local Chinese Immersion School (in St. Cloud, MN) we got to know a number of the Chinese nationals who were living and working in the area. Some were our children's teachers, some were colleagues (teaching Chinese) at the college where my then-spouse and I also taught, and some were college students. At the peak of our connection with this community, we had two Chinese students living in our house with us. At some point - here my memory becomes vague - one of these Chinese acquaintances arranged for a friend or relative who practiced the traditional art of paper cutting (Jianzhi) to make cuttings for my then-spouse and I, representing the years in which each of us was born according to the Chinese zodiac. I was an ox, she a rabbit. They were gifted to us for Christmas & hung on our walls along with the usual family portraiture. The marriage ended some years back, the cutouts came down and were delivered to me by the former spouse. They have been languishing on a shelf in my house for, oh, five years or so. Because of this item's intimate connection with my former life and marriage, I'm not eager to put it on display anywhere in my house. Perhaps someone else will appreciate the work. I can assure you it is handmade with all the care that a skilled artist would put into a work intended to be presented as a gift.
