I have 2 large Chinese/Asian Heron/Crane Bird pictures that are in excellent condition. They are professionally framed and measure 42" by 32 1/2" and the frame is 2 1/2" thick. The receipt from the Decorator Store says they are hand painted and it looks like it is on some type of paper. I had a friend from China look at them and she said the Chinese inscriptions mean "long, long life, green forever, calming water,and the birds are a symbol of a long life" and the bottom stamp mark is the artist's name or signature. The birds' coloring is quite vibrant and blends beautifully with the neutral background and muted water color at the bottom of the pictures. I have owned them since the 1980's and bought them as a special order from the decorator and they were quite pricey then. The backs of the pictures are covered with manila paper. The frames are made of wood and are gold with a touch of black striation and they have a beveled detailing. I think the birds may be of the Blue Heron species but I am not sure of that. Overall, they are stunning pieces of artwork!!!
